Denim

Cotton Denim from Rowan Yarns knits up to a practical, hardwearing fabric with all the characteristics of traditional blue jeans. It's indigo rope-dyed, which means that the core remains lighter colour. As the fabric wears, the familiar faded jeans look emerges. Rowan Denim can only be used for dedicated denim patterns as it is hot washed and shrunk before sewing up.

Tips: put a little spare yarn for sewing up the garment in a sock and hot wash it with your knitted pieces. Cover your lap with a tea-towel while you knit to prevent the indigo coming off on your clothes (this doesn't happen after the first wash).
